I woke up early the other morning and felt like getting some reading done. After reading several pages of a how-to book I got curious as to the latest news that I could glean from my recently purchased HTC EVO Shift. However, instead of news I had to make a quick decision, do I want to go back to sleep or update? For there it was when I unlock the screen, There is a newer version of software available. Do you want to update now? Just a few months ago I didn’t have to worry about updates with my Samsung fliptop phone. I guess because it was so old and didn’t need them. It could have used updates, for sure, but I finally replaced it because I wore the thing out.

So instead of reading or going back to sleep I’m wondering should I update or wait for the morning when I can use the phone considering the problems we get from time to time updating our pc’s. So you’d think I’d wait and go back to sleep, right? Wrong!
Of course I took the cookie and updated to the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. Cause I had nothing better to do. Duh!

BTW, I love the fast power up and improved notification area, among other cool crumbs of the Gingerbread version.
