I really should change these weekly Wednesday postings to Wasteful Wednesday. Seems there’s endless amounts of our federal tax dollars going towards worthless projects. They maybe useful and deserving of funding, but not all are worthy of federal tax money. For example, companies and organizations needing funds to showcase wines throughout Washington State should raise private funds for their own interests. Unless, of course, federal government sees its employees benefitting i.e. conference meetings. And we all know how much work gets accomplished at these government meetings, don’t we?
A multimillion-dollar wine exhibition and culinary center being developed near Prosser has the view overlooking the Yakima River and a $2 million federal grant, but it could use $100,000 from Benton County before breaking ground on the next phase later this year, organizers say.
The Clore Center is expected to be a destination for wine and food education, featuring a tasting room, kitchen, exhibits, teaching vineyards, gardens, classrooms and conference rooms.
