Remember when we thought love was the only thing we needed to make it? Nowadays we need a pre-nuptial agreement, two cars, his and her closets, frozen eggs and sperms, man-caves, and a host of other things. Do we change to make things better, or do things change us, for better or for worse?
I love thee to the level of everyday’s most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right; I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use in my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith. ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning
